Congrats guys! nice to see some birds being taken!

I took my son on his 1st SpringNY Youth hunt last weekend - he didn't get any shooting - but we talked to a lot of Birds and saw several.

I can't hunt until maybe Sunday - my buddy got a NICE mature tom at the farm this morning - christening the "pretty boy" on Opening day. He said the Tom was in last year's standing corn, he made one call - and the tom came out and saw The Pretty Boy decoy and RAN 150 yds and was shot at 30 yds. He's not in this contest - but nice to know that One was that easily taken.

Bird down-------Just got back from South Dakota with a bird down. Not the biggest one in the world but better than nothing! 20 lbs-both spurs 3/4 I believe is 51.25.

nice bird. my seasons over:(i went out today and didnt see or hear a single turkey. im sry i didnt help the team out. i might try and get one for the last season but i doubt it

Went today with my father-in-law and a friend - we hunted out a blind, with decoys on a field, it was a blast - called in 3 jakes all together that we tripled on. Mine was a decent sized jake, with a 6.5" beard - Definitely not the biggest bird out there - but It was a hunt I'll remember forever!

Dogkiller: I am not sure about the mm. score I may have to convert it. I converted the mm to inches and it is 7/8. I will post the score using that for spur length.

I am still working at it. Seen a lot of jakes, early on heard several birds on the roost, but not lately. Going out this evening and give it a try.

My buddy from Michigan said they are still coming to the call really well. Its still early and I think we will have a few more on the scoreboard before its over.

Well, I am done, sorry for not contributing. I hunted hard and long, but to no avail. Had lots of fun, just got my butt kicked. In 14 years of hunting this is only the second year I didn't get a bird. Good job to the one of you who did score.

We had alot of rain before my season started and we have a big river thats runs through our land and we got so much that it started to flood and it ruined all our fields. It took out a whole field that was going to be corn. I was planning on hunting the fields, but i guess not.

Well my season ended today and didnt kill a bird. I hunted hard and had a bunch of close oppurtunities but came up short. My little brother ended up with a nice bird with a 9 inch beard. Good luck to the rest of you and sorry i couldnt score one for the team.

Guys I think I have the record......for the smallest bird of the year. I should have posted this earlier. Killed on 5/10/08 at 11:50am, ten minutes till quitting time, shot 50 yards from my truck. I was calling it a day at about 11:30 and heard a gobble on the way back to the truck, but I thought it was across the road and across a small creek, but figured what the heck I'll call to him. Called to him, got him to gobble twice, sounded like he was getting closer but I wasn't sure. It was getting late so I walked real slow looking to see if the bird was coming in quiet. I got to the top of a ridge that was literally 75 yards from my truck when I saw him pop up over the ridge on the trail I was taking. He ran to the left, I waited till he got to an opening and drilled him. That jake crossed a road and possibly a creek to meet his demise.

Here are the specs:
15 lbs
1" beard
1/8" rt spur (nub)
1/8" lft spur (nub)
A whopping 20.5 points by the calculator.

Beat that guys.....
