Here in Mass the season opens April 28 and runs until May 24. This is my second season out and I'm hopefull that I'll do pretty good. I'm hooked up with a seasoned turkey hunter, that fills all of his tags in the four states that he hunts each year.

So, what is everyone's plans of going after those Toms? Anyone using a bow or is everyone just going with a shotgun? I'm planning on getting one with my shotgun first, then if I accomplish that going after my second with my bow. Anyone doing the same?

kingvjack 03-13-2008 12:01 PM

RE: Team 11

Our season here in Kansas actually starts with bow season for a week... So, I will probably try and poke a hole in one with that until gun opens.

BuckRogers 03-13-2008 09:45 PM

RE: Team 11

Our bow season runs through all the gun seasons. So I will be getting a bow tag and then a gun tag for the last season.

RE: Team 11

I will be taking my two grandsons hunting on NH Youth Weekend the end of April. The weekend before the regular season opens.

Always a great time. They are waiting for their first bird but there always seem to be excitement. My 2 sons split up with the 2 boys and I am "Captain Video" for the morning. We have some good footage of turkeys in the field and should have tagged at least one bird - but that's a story for another day.;)

Hopefully we can get this season started off in the right direction.

Not til April 21st here, and I thank god this year. Usually I would want the season earlier, but by this time friday the river by my house(meremac river)will be up 43' out of the banks. It might be the worst flood since 1982, and we had a really big one in '93. I-44 was closed an hour after i left college for home(spring break). When i went over the bridge at 1pm it was 8ft or better from the bridge. At 4pm it was over the bridge and 44 was closed and had to be re routed. It is not going to be a good next couple of days here in Missouri.

Hopefully those type of flooding rains stop come a couple of months due to the poulting season.... otherwise, your gonna see a shortage of new birds

I think we will be fine. It is supposed to crest saturday, and will probably take a week or so to go down, but most of the breeding doesnt start til the first week or two of april.

I didnt hear too much about the Flood in IL. I did hear the Kaskaskia was flooded pretty bad. The levee in IL or MO? The one in Missouri was a private levee, not the main levee by Valley Park. If the main one would have broke highway 44 would have been bye bye.

I would love to Bowhunt over there with you but out of state tags are just plain rediculous![:@]Maybe when i get a full time job but as a collge student I cant swing that. The bad part is my girlfriend has property in Effingham too.
