Western MA, He seems to be a regular...hope you get a crack at him

Our regular season starts in the morning...im gettin the diaphrams and slate packed up right now.Ill be using a bow this time.
Well sorry I cant bring you any. My buddy/camera man came down with some sort of bug last night, and as I lay in bed this morning about 4:45 listening to the 35+mph winds (debating whether I should just go alone or not)....I opted to sleep in...have breakfast with my family and go on a little outing to the wildlife preserve nearby...Ill give em heck this evening though

Hopefully things go a little betterafter lunch

Good luck to all!!!!
okgobbler...I expect to hearBBD Big Bird Down

Keep us posted OK... You'll get em.

I am getting really anxious. I went up to my buddy's place yesterday to visit. We took 2 nice toms there last year. As we were talking about where to put the blind up out in the field, we turned around and their were 3 toms and 3 hens eating the bird seed on his back deck!
2 look like last year's jakes. One has a thin whispy beard, the other is average, the third has a nice rope. They all seem to have 1/2" or so spursthough. I am guessing they are all younger birds.
We'll put one on the board their opening day.... 3 weeks from today!

Well, the long and short of my last 5 days in KS. goes like this. Lots of turkeys seen, no breeding going on, if you weren't in thier travel pattern, you were SOL. Passed up a golden opportunity at a couple of jakes on the first afternoon, and never had another bird in bow range.
Had a good time and will be going back again later this spring, and I'll take a shotgun along, just in case!

I got one Monday morning with my mossberg 835 and 3 1/2" shells(I also forget how much it hurts). Do I add total inches of beard length? or just the longest beard. He had an 8" main beard and small, thin 3" beard? Spurs were 1" and 1.125 and weight was 17.5 lbs. With both beards he scores 60.75 and with only the longest, it is 54.75. Average bird for that area of the state. I'll probably go again this weekend with my bow.

How do I post pics?
