Hey boys, right now Team 15 (Team Spurrfect) has the lead in the 08 Turkey Contest. I know it is early, but it's nice to see us up there on the top of that leader board.

I killed a big one this morning...I stood on a scale with all my boots and weighed 195 and then i picked up the turkey and it was dead at 220. It had inch and a quarter spurs and a lil over 10 inches. What do i need to get it scored

You need a pic of the bird along with the measurments. Then your captain will post your score. Congrats it sounds like a real nice bird...

I mean the beard was a lil over ten inches. I scored it on the nwtf site and i have a picture now what

it scored 25+10+10+20=65

25 pounds both spurs 1 1/4 inches and beard 11 1/8 inch

It was shot at about 6:20 am in Kentucky with a Benelli nova 12 gauge with 3 1/2 inch 5 shot. Set up in a small group of 5 trees next to a fenceline behind field. Heard gobbles, started calling, then a jake came blazing by and i thought he had spotted me, but i soon found out what he was running from. The tom was walking towards my decoys and i putted with my mouth call he stopped and thats where it ended
