Well I am doing a pile of killing. The farms are over run with them this year. I am at 425 chucks with my Air Arms TX200.

That's a lot of chucks Ron. That TX200 has really worked out well for you. How many pellets total do you think you've shot with it now?

I had a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 scope on it first. That one had 5000 rounds on it with that TX200. Then I upgraded to a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6-24x50 FFP. I have just over 2000 rounds with that scope. Long story short I have about 7000 rounds +-. I'm still on the OEM guts on that rifle. I have a brand new set of guts for it when it goes south. They are the easiest air rifle to rebuild. This year I shot a lot with powder burners but I made 800 dollars shooting chucks this year.

Nice when your hobby pays part of the bill for itself. Why the switch in scopes? Do you need the extra magnification for the distance you shoot or are you trying to shoot further into the evening?

The first Vortex the crossfire was a Second focal plane scope. The BDC lines changed with the power of the scope. The Diamondback is a first focal plane. The values for the MOA lines stay the same. With the Diamondback I can dial up the drop or I can use the MOA lines in the scope. That scope also has a ton of Windage MOA dots to work with. So if I am at 45 yards, I get in the blind and shoot at a dirt clod. I can count the MOA dots for both drop and windage to get a better idea where to hold.
Last the higher power setting is nice but I seldom go over 18. My Crossfire scopes were clear out to 12X but the diamondback is clear out to 18 power. Above that it does lack in clarity but it is still not bad.
I use a range finder on every shot and correct the scope for each shot. The Diamondback is an awesome scope for that.

I have the Vortex Diamondback Tac. It is FFP as well. I really like this scope. I have never seen a sidewinder. Have you talked to Arken to see if they will stand up to spring powered guns? A lot of scope companies won't.
