i just purchased a new rem 700 cdl. i did a lot of looking around before the purchase. i am one to be careful with my money and want to find what i feel is best for me. i looked at lots of rifles, and i really liked the feel of the remington. it is a very nice looking rifle. and fit me really well. quite a few rifles, by several makers had sticky and sloppy bolts. then there were guns from the same makers that felt crisp and smooth. the remington i purchased is smooth and there is very little wobble from the bolt. my favorite rifle by far. my father owns lots of winchesters, ithicas, and savages. he loves them all. i feel it is about personal preference. some people like the feel of one rifle, then others like the feel of another. but every manufacture has to cut cost smoewhere nowadays.
