RE: Need some help with finding a case
I use hard cases almost exclusively, with the exception of my T/C White Mountain Carbine that I have a very handly short soft-case for. I generally use the less expensive plastic single gun hard cases, but I do have one very nice aluminum double-rifle case that use regularly that will hold two scoped rifles, two Harris bipods, a one piece cleaning rod, patches and a bottle of CLP and a bottle of bore cleaner. It's very handy when my wife and I both go to the range together, as we can put both our rifles for the day in the one case and go. It's also very sturdy. I believe that it is a Gander Mountain label case. It was a bit spendy, as I think I got it on sale for $75. But it's been worth it as it keeps the guns inside very secure.
It would easily hold two and should hold three pump or semi-auto shotguns provided you take the barrels off. It is not long enough to hold a Browning BPS with a 28" barrel while assembled. As for "a few extra barrels" at the same time as three shotguns, I can't say for sure if it'd fit or not. That's a lot of stuff for a double case. If you want to tote that much stuff you might have to look into the really big airline approved aluminum safari cases, but those are VERY spendy from the ones I've seen.
