If I had a big, mature buck in front of me and he had some busted points I'd take him. I'd leave the rack as it was. I think it adds character; he was a fighter, and it shows in the rack. If one side was gone I'd pass. The reason to shoot a mature buck is the antlers, IMO. If I want meat a doe will do.
