Default RE: "As Long as It's Legal"....Gimme a Break

A 30.06 bullet travels 17,700ft. That is over 3 miles. If you have a designated shooting area(like a feeder)it limits the unforseen accidents. There is a difference between "bait piles" and "feeders". Cows can eat from "piles" but cannot eat corn thrown from a "feeder".
A feeder is a good way to teach a young person or neewbie how to hunt. The only time you might see a trophy buck at a feeder is during the rut. If you have pigs they will more than likely eat all the corn before the deer show up. Texas has more whitetail than any state. I see at least 50 everyday. If you are an adult and shoot a little buck or doe everyone would laugh at you...
As for Peta, I guess they forget that whiteatil carry lyme disease. When the pretty deer drop ticks in their yards and their children get lyme disease maybe they will understand herd management a little better. Last year in south Texas they also had several cases of anthrax in deer.
We have a "SPECIAL SEASON" for DOES AND SPIKES/antlerless.
