Well thanks guys sure boosts my confidence, I haven't gotten a bird yet. Last year I passed on a bearded hen at 15 yrds and misjudged the distance of a tom that was 35 yrds away. What do you think of a 40 yard shot with the gun? I wan to keep my shots cat 30 yards or less but in case of an emergency (ie, he is spooked or about leave etc.) should i take him or not?
