RE: downrange energy?
I agrre that lead 6's loose alot of energy past forty yards. I shoot 6's and have killed turkeys graveyard dead up to 40 yards but farther than 40 it just doesn't hit them very hard. My gun patterns 6's the best and has a killable pattern out to 55 yards but since I shoot 6' I want shoot them past forty. Last year I missed jugded the yardage and shot one at 47 yards, I broke him down and I don' think he could have got away but I had to step on his head to kill him.
