Hi guys,

I did end up getting the Rem 7400 in .308 from my cousin. I thoroughly cleaned out the barrel and sprayed the action down with cleaner and wiped it as thoroughly as I could. So it is pretty clean.

Here are some questions.

1) Can someone with a Rem 7400 tell me if your rifle is doing the following. With the magazine in, lock the action back. Place your hand and some upward pressure on the magazine and hit the action release button located on the magazine. The action will not cycle on my rifle in this situation. Does it cycle on yours?

2) How do I go about cleaning out the gas system?

This rifle was very abused. When I cleaned out the barrel it was so dirty. Lots of blue coming out of the barrel and just very dirty patches.

The problem that this rifle is having, second hand info, is that it jams on the second shot.

Any help you guys could provide would be appreciated.
