RE: Whats your take on brace height and forgivness?
I wonder about this sometimes. A longdraw archer of say 31 inches shooting a bow with a 7 inch brace has that arrow on the string for a 24 inch powerstroke. While a 28 inch draw guy shootig a 6 inch brace has it on for just 22 inches. I really don't know if this means anything but I do know I shoot one bow with a 29ish inch draw (actual measured and a brace of 7.25) and another with a 28.25ish inch draw (again, actual measurement and with a 6.25-6.5 brace) and I notice no difference in how forgiving they are compared to each other. Actually I shoot the lower brace bow better. Go figure.
Now, I would think if you had two bows, both equal draw lenghts with one at 5 inches and the other at 8 inches of brace you are going to see a difference... I do know the bow that slapped my arm the worse was an Old Glory being shot at 1.5 inches more draw than I was used to. That sucker got me almost every time because I could not account for how long the arrow was on the string. I think any bow at 30.5 would have got me..
