I have heard that 3 piece cleaning rods are bad for rifles, so I have been looking for a new one.
I really don't understand why the 3 piece rod is bad. It is made of aluminum, which is softer than rifle barrel steel. The brass brush is probably just as hard as the aluminum rod, or harder.
The new one piece rod that I was looking at is steel, again, harder than the 3 piece aluminum rod!
So, my question is this: is the 3 piece aluminum rod a bad thing, if so, why? Or is this just a myth? Thanks for the help!
