I recall the name. Didn't he write for Shooting Times? Varmint bullets fly really fast. We can all be supersonic that way. But there is a limit to what lead can stand up to, or some other material to engage the rifling. And then it has to handle the torque of the bullet spin.
Particle gun, anyone?
