I'll second BGfisher, I've had work done at a Gander Mountain store. Sure, some of the guys didn't really have a clue, but 2 of them were very knowledgeable and knew their way around a bow.

But then again, I've never been to a "pro" shop, we only have hunting store with archery departments around here.
