RE: Bow string Changed ? How much?
I'll throw a nickel into the pot. I work in a Gander shop myself. Our strings vary a lot, but I'd have to say that for most strings, installed, you are looking at a max of $20 and a low of about $10. It depends on what string they have. Most of ours are D75 or BCY450 material made by Tailor Made. Not the greatest, but just as good as most factory strings in most cases.
And how good are the guys in the shop? Can't speak for all of them, but our particular store has 4 out of 5 guys that do better work than many proshops. Mainly because we have one PRO shooter, and the other 3 have worked in shops for several years before coming here. Their archery experience is pretty impressive to me, for such a young group. I'm the staff shooter, been one for 12 years now and was actually a sales rep for one year for Pearson Archery. One guy, a young lad of 21, has a father that was a sales rep for a lot of years for Hoyt, and Ten Point Crossbows. We may be an exception, but I'm lucky to work with these guys. I even learn from the young-uns, and sometimes the customers.
