WOW!! Such hostility!! I find it interesting that I asked a question a year or so ago about using a scope on this forum and found that several folks are using them. I found a Simmons Pro Diamond 2X on e-bay fairly cheap and mounted it on my Mossberg. Did I need it? No! I have taken turkey's without a scope. Did I like it? Absolutely!! Granted---I'm 48 and the eyes ain't what they used to be. Instead of trying to focus front sight---rear sight---turkey, I found it a joy to watch that ole tom approach through a low powered scope---and then having confidence in my aim point. I had the fortune of taking 4 turkeys last spring and therefore my scope is mounted to stay. I'm not sure I would recommend a 4X scope however.
