Tough Crowd!
I guess for my tired old eyes a cantalever barrel and scope make me a better shot when deer hunting. I didn't realize I should stay home because I need/use a scope to deer hunt. I've also added a scope to my turkey gun. I have unfortunately missed several birds inside of 35 yards because of being turned at bad angles or shooting low crossing limbs that my gun barrel blocked out. I realize there are disadvantages to having the scope on the gun but in my particular case I feel like the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. I'm not a very good wingshot so hitting a flying turkey with a .665 choke tube is really not a consideration for me. I only shoot at flying birds if I have knocked them down and feel like I have crippled them. I'm hoping the scope will drastically reduce the need for those shots. I am considering adding some tru-glo sights for rainy days as I consider that one of the biggest disadvantages to using a scope. I think I would prefer an adjustable set of sights, what model do you use?
Thanks,
Doug
