Duckmaster, The arrow was barely in the brisket so I will have to agree not much damage was done. I hate it though cause you just never know! Yeah there are alot of good bucks on that farm. We've managed it for about 6 years. It's really paying off! Cool thing though, the group of three bucks came off public land that morning!

lemond, I've been using a broadhead called a Wensel Woodsman. It's a good 3-blade head you have to sharpen yourself. I personally don't think the head matters near as much as good shot placement. If you hit them well, they're going down. I use as big a broadhead as possible for those not so good shots. I want as much blood on the ground as possible!! I had a great streak going 'til last year. Something like 21 deer for 23 shots (shot two twice). This year seems to be starting off about where last season left off!

Are you sure they are persimmon seeds? Sure it's deer crap not racoon? Could be choke cherry or poke berry seeds. They gobble them up this time of year!

Allen, I hunted an oak patch Friday and saw nothing. My friend was about 150 yards away and saw a bunch including three really good bucks. They were feeding on browse in a powerline right-of-way. I hunted the edge of a cornfield in the morning Saturday and saw 6 bucks and 5 does. Everyone was ripping the ears off the corn stalks. When I was trailing the buck I hit, the cornfiled looked incredible. Sign was everywhere!!! Hunted a hidden bean field Sat. afternoon and saw 30 plus deer but only three bucks. Beans versus corn....I think the only moral right now is they are where they are. Any good food source will do! Now when the acorns start dropping...that's a different story!!! Good luck every one! I'm thinking of hitting the woods one day mid-week!!
