I would worry more about accuracy than speed at this point in the game for you..You can gain a little more speed by putting nothing more than a nock set and silencers on your string. My fist bow was a pse nova..It was a good shooting bow. Got my first elk with it at 33 yards. The bow will do well on deer. The rest is up to you..Good luck
