RE: Have you heard?
I called last week and tried to do some digging but got the same message that you did DC. I even asked if she had heard the rumor that they were going up and she said "no" she hadn't heard it. I knew there were some other changes that were supposed to take place but I hadn't heard anything on price until the last week or so. If it's correct, they just priced this NR out as well. I am sure it won't make any difference because there are plenty of people that are willing to pay it and I am sure they will still sell out. But they won't get anymore of my money. When you are already paying 1200-1500 to go on a hunt, another 150 is pretty insignificant. But it's just the principle of it to me. I am sure it will make the residents happy and I don't blame them but I will find somewhere else to hunt. Hopefully, next year I will have enough preference points to draw out in Iowa. But it's going to leave me scrambling to find a place to hunt for this year. Which again really sucks because I have a spot lined up that I feel really good about and would have really liked to have hunted for the next few years but if Illinois is just going to hike their leg and p!$$ on the NRs then I'll take my money and spend it somewhere else.
