I don't think very many people make a conscious decision to give up hunting though how much hunting they will do at times can be quite variable. When I was a youth I hunted a lot but after going away to college and starting a career I hunted very little due to lack of time and opportunity. I have now reached a stage in my life where I have a little more time to do the things I like and I now find myself hunting much more. Things could change and I might not hunt as much in the future as I do now but I really do not foresee circumstances in which I would consider myself a "former hunter".
