Default RE: Winchester X-150, is it CVA knockoff?

I am in full agreement about not being a fan of past CVA products HOWEVER, do not be in a hurry to dump the Winchester X-150. Two years ago I purchased a Winchester X-150 in anticipation of uploading to 150 grains of powder for a bear hunt trip. After the purchase I learned that Winchester and CVA are almost one and the same but I kept the gun as I really like how it shouldered and it's balance. As of today, no bear trip has taken place but I have taken 3 deer with the gun using 100 grains of powder and 295 grain hollow point Powerbelt bullets. The accuracy of the X-150 at 100 yards with the Powerbelts (and a Leupold 2X7) shotgun scope) is nothing short of astounding--no more than 2" to 2 1/2" groups with consistency. Look at it this way, Winchester is not going to damage their name with an inferior product. Of note, if you do still have the gun, be prepared for shoulder pain if you practice a lot using maximun powder charges!
