JamesB, I spend lots of hours every week at the range and I shoot a few rifles that have some recoil (my largest is a 300RUM). Santa brought me a Caldwell 'Lead Sled' this year for range use and boy is it super. If you have shoulder issues, you might want to check these out. You can shoot all day with no ill effects, if you can hold up to the one or two shots you'll need at game. Good luck!
