I don't know a whole lot about the crud ring problem, except that I shoot 777 and do have a crud ring after a round of shooting. This just doesn't seem to be a problem, a cleaning with hot soapy water and a little brush stroke or two and it is gone. I don't think that I will have a problem unless I fail to take care of my rifle (Encore), which will never happen. I am a 24 year law enforcement officer and weapons to me can mean life or death and mine will be clean and working properly.
