I got mine last Christmas and love it. It is very simple to learn to use and unless you really need the maps, it's a great unit.
I bought the video for it and it sucks, in my opinion. The best thing you can do is practice with it, take a walk around your neighborhood and start marking waypoints. (It's unreal how far we've came since the compass.)It will tell you how far from your house you are, your average speed, elevation, and how many minutes it will take you to get back etc.
To sum it up they are very simple to work if you just practice with it. They are around $100.00
