A few years back we had a late doe season here and on the same day my buddy shot a buck that had dropped both of his antlers and I shot a doe that was being heavily chased at the time I shot her. This was the last week of January. We also observed bucks in bachlor groups on that same day. There is no set time for all rut activity, just peaks and valleys. This year I have found a shed on 12-26-04 and last weekend I saw a scrape in the same gerneral area that was recently worked. It happens.
