Default RE: My best freind has one arm

Hey rbduck!Welcome to the boards.Your story about your friend brought back some fond memories for me.I too had a very close friend that only had one arm.Like your friend,he was absolutly the best wing-shooter that I have ever met.He worked with my dad for the railroad, and lost his arm in a derailment clean-up operation. When I was real young,I came very close to being killed in a hunting accident.I went thru alot of hard times, and often wanted to give up with the physical therapy, and having to relearn how to do the simplest tasks. My doctors, parents, and family members did what they could to motivate me...but often it just didn't matter to me anymore.Had it not been for this friend,I would have given up.He was able to relate to me in a way that none of the others ever could.I owe him more than I'll ever be able to repay. With his help,I learned to shoot as a southpaw(having previously been a righty),and I became a pretty good wing-shooter myself. We shot doves, ducks, quail, skeet,
and trap together.Just like your friend,it seemed there was nothing that my friend could not do.He handloaded ammo, fished(including baiting his hooks),shot pool and snooker, skinned wild game,...you name it....he could do it!He truly taught me to believe in myself, and to realize that if you want to do it bad enough...then you can do it!Hope I didn't bore yall with this rambling on,but when I read your post,I had to tell you my experience...LOL.Anyway,welcome again duck...and tell your friend hi for me.
