I forgot to mention that when I bought the 300 it was the first my RUM's and I sent it out to an outfit called Answer Products. They gave it the full accuracy package including freezing the barrel to some god awfull low temp, But the 338 shoots just as good with only the basic accuracy package and trigger adjustments. I guess even a blind pig can find an accorn once in awhile
