Another vote for antelope.
Antelope are up feeding all day, they are easy to spot & the season in my home state opens the second sunday in October. This "early opening season" in most cases equals mild weather. IMHO most newbies hate getting cold. If you keep them warm, have fun & spot game? You have a good chance at getting them hooked.
