It all depends on how good a shot you are. I'll shoot at 'em out to 440 yds. (the distance across a 40 acre field) any time , don't hit very many though. Out past about 200 yds. the wind is really going to get ahold of your bullet so you've got to take that into account. But a .243 will kill 'em if you can hit 'em.
