RE: coyotes with .243
it all depends on you and your gun.how you have it sighted and how good you think you nerves are.I try to hold my shots to 300 yards.I did take a coyote at 440 yards once.didn't have anything to lose,so I gussed at the holdover and he fell.I knew the range and wanted to get him out of the pasture.I took another at 320 yards with a good solid rest.I had the yote in the scope and could see a cow that had just had a calf in the edge of the scope.(I shoot 80 grain PSP Winchester ammo)
you need to know the distance and the drop at that range,or have a good dial scope.
good luck on getting it ranges set,that the fun ;setting the scope and getting it all together.I love to shoot long range.I'm not all that good at it,.but thats the fun,"trying".
