RE: Tompson Center
I guess you can figure by my screen-name how I feel about T/C's. I have rifle barrels in .308, 22-250 and the 209X45 BP barrel for my Encore frames(I use one frame for "long" barrels and the other for pistol-lenth barrels). The 308 and 22-250 will shoot sub MOA and the bp will hover around an inch. I sent both frames off for an action job, so I can't say what the trigger pull is on a factory Encore, but like RA said, I'd say that its in the 4lb range. I also hunt out of a treestand and shoot right or left-handed, so an ambidextrous gun is a must for me. They're light and come to shoulder as good as anything I've picked up. I'll agree with little-d, the trigger-spur will dig into your back while packing, but like I said, I treestand hunt, so I'm usually packing a stand on my back and the gun is carried in hand. Another thing to keep in mind is the versatility of it. You can get just about ANY caliber/guage etc your wallet will allow. And I personally think hunting with a single-shot will make you a better hunter. If you've got only one shot, you know that you need to make that one shot count. And, no matter how many different barrels you have, you'll always be pulling the same trigger and I think that should also make you a better shooter. I could go on, but I guess thats about enough for now.lol This just my .02 on how I feel personally. But in the end, it'll be YOU dropping the cash, so do all the research you can and if you can borrow one or rent one to try out, do it. Then you can judge for yourself of they're right for you or not. Good luck.
