Default RE: Book - Wildlife Management

Thanks for getting back to me.

The book is not a "how to" book and is not designed to be used at the university level to teach wildlife mangement priciples or techniques. Their are text books and university courses designed for professionals such as yourself. I don't believe that I represented it in this manner either.

The "unique" aspect of the book is not that it offers "ground-breaking" approaches to wildlife mangement - but that it explains how the concepts and workings of wildlife management, conservation, ecosystems, and, also combines this with an explanation of the origins of hunting, the psychology of hunting, the politics that embroil hunting, the forces working against hunting, - to educate hunters so that hunters may educate the "uninformed." The concept is that hunters need to change their mindset from simply enjoying their favorite pasttime to becoming educated about the sport and the science involved in it (harveting biological surplus...) so that they may educate others - that's why the title of the book is "The New Age Hunter."

If the "layperson" begins to understand the above dynamics they will certainly better understand the noble profession you've chosen.

Regards
Ant
