I have found that the flash range on all the units I've played with seem to be comparabe. They all claim 30 feet and it's been my experinece that wil easily handle that distance. IMO, the Cuddeback's flash seems to "wash out" more of the image compared to the LR. I think the LR takes a great natural looking image. Also, the Leaf River takes a better, more natural colored daylight image. In fact, I think the Leaf River takes a better pic than even the 35mm Cams do! On one of the previous pages on this post i have a typical example of LR image quality during the very first minutes of legal shooting time before sunrise. Here are a couple of pics taken during overcast and hazy days and they still look great. I included a pic of myself checking the site because it can be difficult to judge a pic of a critter due to varying tones and colors. The other is a pic of some turkey just as it has begun to snow, so you know the light is seriously effected but yet the LR performs very well.
