When a bear dies 99% of the time it gives out a moan known as the "DEATH MOAN" bears are tough animales they aren't like a deer they will not bed down and try to heal. I feel what your goin thru, I lost a big buck here in NJ a few years ago during the archery season. Good Luck !!!!
