RATE MY BOWS and suggestions on blades?
I've just started bow hunting whitetail this year and have many questions. Can't think of them all at once so I've gotta ask'em as they arise. Here's a couple:
1) I'm hunting passed down/used, probably inferior bows and would like an opinion on the two I'm currently using. I have a Golden Eagle and a Pearson. They are both run of the mill compounds and are not speed bows. I don't know models but generally, which of these two are more renowned?
2) I'm also concerned about my bow not having enough kick to it. By that I mean that I don't think the arrow will penetrate well enough at 20+ yards. The 2 bows I have are both set at what is told to me to be 55 lb draws. I'm using carbon fiber arrows with tripple blade 1 1/2 inch cutting diameter heads. My main concern is that if the arrow doesn't hit its intended mark and hits the shoulder blade instead, will it penetrate through that bone to hit the vitals? 55 lbs is what I'm comfortable at but will upping the draw weight to 60 make that much of a difference?
3) (related to #2) I considered that dual blades might penetrate deeper because there is the absence of the drag of the 3rd blade. Do I presume correctly? Also, a double blade will have less killing power than a tripple correct? If this helps any, the Golden Eagle was trapped at 220 fps by the previous owner and just by comparing that to the Pearson, it's probably a bit slower.
