i think 500 might be alittle to far because at that range a 100gr bullet drops 40inches and with 75gr bullet it drops 30 inches at that range. plus it would be damn hard to see one at that distance. I saw a yote shot at 250 yard with a 243 just last week it rolled the yote over. if you have your rifle sighted in correctly i would say 300 yards would be preatty good. it dependson your scope power and where the rifle is sighted in at.
