They will kill a coyote as far as u feel comfy shooting. 500yds with a 243 i severly doubt that buckmaster maybe u need a range finder sure it wasnt 300 and u just cant judge yardage cuz geesh 500yds thats really far for even a ultra mag let alone a 243 with a lightweight slug. Guess anything is possible though i suppose...
