Not really that much of a gap there between it and the 243 Win. I never cared for the 25-06 much anyways. Too much overbore.
If you had taken the time to check the ballistic tables you would of noticed that the 25.06 launches bullets 15g. to 20g. heavier at the same or slightly higher speeds than the .243. This relates to more down range energy(aprox. 15-25% depending on the bullet size compared) and usually flater shooting bullets.
The .243,25.06 and the.270 are all good rounds and each is better than the others in certain situations.
