Yes the 710 is affordable not "cheap". I consider a gun "cheap" when it will not shoot consistant. Remington cut corners on looks and bells and whistles but not on the barrels.

I get the impression that half the people who slammed the 710 have never even held or fired one. Someone (who has owned one) needed to chime in with a honest review on the performance of this rifle. With the proper break in and ammunition (most important) this rifle has been one of the best I have owned. The only problem I have had is with Winchester Supreme ammo, I could not get it to group well, other than that this is a nice rifle for the money!
