Jlong since you brought up using it as a tool me too (heck we all do). There are cheap tools and then there are good tools; even with cheap tools you get what you pay for. I bought a cheap set of sockets to put in my truck for fixing my mowers ( I do lawn and garden work) first time I went to use it the teth in the rachet slipped and I smashed a couple of knuckels ( you all can stop snickering now). Now I use "craftsman" no more problem. I wish you well with your 710.
