I usually setup no more than 15 feet.

I have one stand in a crook of a tree that is only about 3 or 4 feet off the ground. Great cover due to large tree trunks and some brush. Also it's a good funnel area. No need to be any higher.

The situation and personal comfort should dictate the stand height.
