I hang anywhere from 12 to 20. Yes, deer look up! More than once we have played, who moves first. Movement and scent control and wind are the biggest factors in my opinion. I hunt in a moderate hunted area. Deer check any new stand hung from my experience. They tend to notice things humans don't. Remember, they live there we don't.
