Low end takedowns are cheaper because they're easier to make. Maybe 'less time consuming' is more accurate than saying 'easier'. Anyway, I haven't seen anything from Martin's shop that I wouldn't shoot. Even the cheapie Rebel 1-piece bows I've handled have been decent quality.
Edit: Just went to Cabela's site to look at the bows... The only bow I saw in the $180 range was the AIM Predator. I've handled one and it's quality is equal to the cheap price. I'm sure it'd shoot an arrow where you want it to go but... [:'(]
For not much more you can order a custom made Falcon from ChekMate. It'd be a 1-piece, but it'd be a bow you wouldn't be embarrassed to take to a 3D shoot. ChekMate's prices on their takedowns are pretty sweet too.
