RE: New Or Used???
I got a used bow from my brother for my first year of bowhunting and then bought a new one the following season. If the bow is relatively new and is in good working order you should be just fine with a used bow. Make sure it is the right draw length and that it is tuned! I would bet that one of your local pro shops would have an older model or a trade-in that they could set up just for you.
If you get bitten by the bow hunting bug, then you can upgrade next year when you have a better feel for archery and more knowledge about what you want.
