Few years back when I was looking at a 30-06 I considered the 710. Went to Dick's and picked one up. cycled the bolt one time and I wasn't interested any more. It just felt chinsy. I bought a savage 111 combo for less. the scope sucked but the rifle doesn't It shoots a good group at 100 yards and I have a feeling I'll be passing it down to my kids some day.
Also, I picked up a .270 win Weatherby Vanguard at Walmart recently. got it for less than the 710. I'd look around and find something else.
