Anybody here have any recommendations for a single shot rifle? I've been thinking about getting one for a while now for both range shooting and hunting whitetails. I've heard/read good things about the TC Encore and Ruger 1; any personal insights on these or others? I'm thinking of a flat shooting, mild recoil caliber like a 25/06 Rem, 270 Win, 280 Rem, 284 Win.

I've never needed a quick follow up shot on game yet, and even so, loading another round in a single shot isn't THAT slow of a process. Just looking for opinions. Thanks!
