I don't know if I really would prefer one over the other since I've only hunted farmland deer. I would like to hunt the mountain territory for a change of pace though sometime. In either situation, hunting can be tough. Either way...if you take the mountains guy and put him on farmland or take a farmland guy and put him in the mountains...each most likely will be out of his element and would need help for a year or two to know what deer do.
i never really enjoyed watching the huge fields for hours upon hours.
Other than having a good eye for what your lookin for...is there really any difference from sitting high on a perch and glassing for your animal then sitting in a deer stand on a field? I'd say it's more work getting into position, but a little easier to put the wind in your favor when on a stalk.
